Context

The HR and payroll module had defects in its existing implementation, and some of its workflows were producing wrong results.

It lived inside an established Laravel HMVC codebase with its own conventions, and the heaviest screens were slow.

What I built

  1. 01Fixes for the defects in the existing implementation, and corrected workflows.
  2. 02REST APIs and Vue.js SPA screens that follow the conventions already in place, instead of new ones.
  3. 03Performance fixes on the heaviest screens: slow queries, repeated requests and missing caching.

Results

  • The module reached a stable state.
  • Workflows that had produced wrong results were corrected.
  • The performance problems on the heaviest screens were traced and fixed.
